Deep Rover Submersible using
laser diode sensor for detecting oil spills

Deep Rover, a personal submarine from Deep Ocean Technology, is a futuristic underwater vehicle with a bubble-type front equipped with two robotic arms. The acrylic-bubble habitat will take oceanographers to depths of 3,200 feet, where they'll work at sea-level pressure in near living room comfort. The vessel "flies" like an underwater helicopter and its set of manipulators can lift 200 pounds each -- or cradle an egg. According to inventor Graham Hawkes, "If you can drive a car, you can 'fly' the Deep Rover"
